Action for Development (AfD) has successfully collaborated with Aasaman Nepal on various vocational training and curriculum development projects, achieving significant milestones in community upliftment and skills enhancement. In recent years, these collaborative efforts have focused on empowering marginalized groups, particularly married and out-of-school (M/OOS) adolescent girls, through comprehensive training programs.

In 2022, AfD, under The Aarambha Project funded by People in Need (PIN), implemented a series of technical and vocational training sessions in the Bara and Rautahat districts. The program aimed at providing M/OOS adolescent girls with practical skills, soft skills, and financial literacy, ensuring their socio-economic upliftment. A total of 1042 participants received training in diverse trades such as Hand Embroidery, Tailoring, and Beautician skills. This initiative not only enhanced their employability but also fostered a sense of independence and self-confidence among the participants. The successful completion of this project has had a profound impact on the community, enabling many young women to start their businesses and contribute to their household incomes, thereby promoting gender equality and financial stability.fb2cac1b-4875-44db-b6b8-96ad5b3ce4f61720507300.jpeg

Furthermore, AfD extended its support to Aasaman Nepal through the Nagarik Sakriyata Project, funded by The European Union, by providing refresher training sessions in the Siraha, Saptari, and Rautahat districts. This project targeted 327 trainees, focusing on trades such as Vegetable Farming, Bamboo Handicraft, Pig Farming, Lac Bangles, and Incense Stick Making. The refresher courses were designed to reinforce and upgrade the skills of the participants, ensuring they stay competitive in their respective trades. The hands-on training not only improved their technical expertise but also equipped them with better market understanding and business acumen.

The impact of these projects has been substantial. Participants have reported increased income levels, better employment opportunities, and improved quality of life. Communities have benefited from the enhanced skill sets and economic activities generated by the newly trained individuals. 9709fe34-e9ff-475a-ab82-675f8f3b87d7 (1)1720507696.jpegThe collaboration between AfD and Aasaman Nepal has proven to be a beacon of hope and progress, driving positive social change and contributing to the overall development of the regions involved.

Through these initiatives, AfD and Aasaman Nepal have demonstrated the power of vocational training in transforming lives and fostering sustainable development. The projects have not only equipped individuals with valuable skills but have also instilled a sense of purpose and empowerment, paving the way for a brighter future for the communities they serve.
