The training spanned over seven days, focusing on imparting advanced construction techniques essential for ensuring the structural integrity of buildings in earthquake-prone areas.

The training program encompassed a multifaceted approach to technology transfer, where participants were properly guided through the intricacies of earthquake-resilient construction. The program's structure included a pretest to gauge initial skill levels, followed by intensive hands-on training sessions.c52b11e0-796a-4f99-a779-b8df81f695b81721111576.jpeg These sessions were managed and monitored meticulously to ensure the highest quality of instruction and practical application. Post-training, detailed reports were prepared and shared with clients and stakeholders, providing insights into the program's progress and outcomes.

A total of 430 candidates (334 males and 96 females) successfully completed the training, demonstrating a significant commitment to enhancing their professional capabilities. Each participant received a toolkit designed for daily use in their masonry work, further facilitating their ability to implement the techniques learned during the training. Additionally, participants were awarded certificates of participation, officially recognizing their proficiency in earthquake-resilient building construction. These testimonials serve as valuable assets in the labor market, enhancing their employability and professional credibility.

The success of this project is evident in the tangible improvements observed within the community. Trained masons have played a pivotal role in rebuilding homes, incorporating earthquake-resilient techniques that significantly reduce the risk of structural failures during seismic events. This not only enhances the safety and security of the local population but also instills a sense of confidence and preparedness within the community.

Furthermore, the initiative has fostered a spirit of empowerment, particularly among female participants, who now possess the skills and credentials to contribute actively to construction projects. The training has also stimulated local economic growth by creating job opportunities and supporting the sustainable development of the construction sector.

In conclusion, the masonry training program spearheaded by Plan International Nepal and Action for Development has made substantial strides in promoting earthquake-resilient building practices in Dolakha district. By equipping masons with essential skills and tools, this initiative has significantly contributed to the rebuilding and fortification of homes, ultimately enhancing the resilience and well-being of the entire community.
