Action for Development (AfD) is a development management consulting firm specializing in Labor Market related skills and enterprise trainings. Affiliated with CTEVT and registered at the Department of Industries, the  company is managed by a team of youthful yet experienced group of engineering and development professionals. The company  besides its core competency in providing skill and enterprise trainings, also carries out action research on Labor Market, Entrepreneurship and Value chain.   

In a span of just over 10  years, the company has established itself as an able implementer of rural and peri-urban based skills and enterprise related interventions. Though the majority of its clients are from international development agencies and government projects, there is a growing trend of private sector  companies clamoring for its services. AfD is headquartered in Kathmandu and has its own training unit . AfD also operates mobile  training units in 5 of the 7 Provinces of the country. AfD on an annual basis trains approximately 1000 persons in various sub sectors under the Skills portfolio  such as Agriculture, Construction, Manufacturing and  Service sector related disciplines with an employment rate in the vicinity of  80%. Women Economic Empowerment is also one of the sectors where AfD has been making a name for itself.  It has also forayed into the Business Skills sub sector and provides demand based trainings in Life Skills and Entrepreneurial skills.
